Looking for your next beach destination? Why not book your next flight to the Philippines? Explore the beauty of this country as you find out more about its terrific beaches.
Here’s a list of the best beaches near Manila, for when you want quick weekend getaways near the city.
Batangas, a province south of Manila, has amazing white sand beaches. It’s the closest to Manila with only about 90 minutes of travel time if you’re coming from the city. Many families and friend groups, whether locals or foreigners, love going to Batangas to enjoy a relaxing weekend of swimming at the beach, engaging in water sports, and other activities.
Some of the best and cleanest beaches in Luzon is found in Batangas. Topping the list are the towns of Nasugbu with Hamilo Coast’s Pico de Loro Cove, Isla Verde, Calatagan with The Stilts and Manuel Uy, Tingloy island with Masasa, and so much more. The clear blue waters will definitely make you want to keep coming back.
North of Manila, Zambales is a quaint province that offers a number of stunning beaches. In fact, it’s every tourist and beach lovers’ favorites. Most Zambales beaches are meant for those who are up for some good thrill and adventure.
This is mainly because beaches in the region, specifically in San Antonio, are located in remote places with no signal at all. To top off the experience, tourists are also expected to cook their own food through grillers and charcoal, with little to no electricity, and tents as accommodation.
Unlike other beaches, though, most beaches in Zambales have grayish sand. Nonetheless, beaches have pretty clear blue waters. Some of the most famous beaches include Anawangin Cove, Nagsasa Cove, Silanguin Cove, and Talisayin Cove.
Before you reach these coves, you have to board a boat and sail across the waters for a couple of minutes to an hour. Picturesque views of mountains and waterfalls await you as you reach your cove destination. Before heading home, you can even make a side trip to Capones Island, which has much whiter sand as compared to the rest of the coves.
Wanderera’s Tip: For white sandy beaches, we’d recommend visiting Potipot island and Magalawa island (with its sandbar!).
Situated just along the shorelines of Luzon is the province of Pangasinan, a region famous for its root crops, rice, and fish. However, aside from agriculture and fishing, Pangasinan also has its fair share of beautiful beaches and islands considering.
Beaches in the province of Pangasinan attract a lot of tourists – both locals and foreigners alike. This is primarily because most of the beaches here are accessible and open to the public, meaning it has cheap entrance fees! For the most part, some beaches don’t even have an entrance fees or environmental costs, which is perfect if you’re trying to stick within budget!
One of the most famous tourist destinations here in Pangasinan includes Hundred Islands, where tourists can go on an island hopping tour for one full day, explore the beauty of each island and engage in water activities such as snorkeling.
For only about three to four hours of travel, you’ll be transported to a place in the Philippines that perfectly blends nature and history at the same time. In an instant, you get to go back in time, specifically during the Spanish colonization period.
Bataan has one of the best beach resorts and destinations to visit if you want to take a quick break from the stressful city life. The region is home to some of the country’s most preserved ancestral houses and heritage sites. Not only that, but you also get to educate yourself more on the history of the country during the World War.
Bataan beaches are mostly composed of beautiful white sand and turquoise waters. A lot of Bataan’s beach resorts in the area also have swimming pools, which guests can enjoy for when they want to take a break off of the sandy shore. If you want a peaceful and relaxing vacation in Bataan, Playa La Caleta should be on your list!

When I get a little stubborn (and maybe competitive), you always remind me that we’re on the same team. Well sabagay, sobrang galing natin sa charades, shoutout to your guessing skills and my acting skills, of course. I think we’ve come a loooong way from being thesis partners, to being the Bookie PH team, to making Team Songco happen exactly a year from now. You keep me excited, milove. To more charades points! Happy 9th! I love you everyday. 💙💫 #monxdij
Looking for some peace and serenity? You should definitely try visiting Quezon province as its beaches will give you an ultimate break from the hustle and bustle of the city life.
Located in remote areas of the province, Quezon beaches are filled with nothing but stunning nature views at every turn that will make you want to stay a little much longer than you’re supposed to stay. Beaches in this region are known to be different as compared to the rest because you really get to be one with nature; hear the birds chirping, the whistling wind, the trees swaying, and the relaxing sound of the waves crashing onto the shore.
A perfect example includes Jomalig Island, the farthest island in the municipality of Quezon province and the most popular because it remains undisturbed, withstanding the test of time.
