Are you looking for a sunflower farm? There’s Sunshine Farm in Tiaong, Quezon just 2 to 3 hours away from Manila.
Sunflowers have been a symbol for happiness for so many years now. Its big yellow petals are always compared to the bright sun.
Plus, its ability to always face the sun is seen as always seeing the bright side in everything. So it’s no surprise that sunflower farms are treated as tourist spots to remind people to always be positive.
One such farm is just 2 to 3 hours away from the hustle and bustle of Manila. Sunshine Farm is just found in Lalig, Tiaong, Quezon. It’s a few hundred meters away from Villa Escudero.
About Sunshine Farm: The Sunflower Farm In Tiaong, Quezon
Just opened last February 18, 2018, the Sunshine Farm is a sunflower farm run by PWD advocate Rhodora Fresnedi. The farm provides livelihood to persons with disabilities (PWDs) while providing hope for each one of them. In November 2017, the place initially planted 4000 sunflower seeds.
Our Experience
Since my friend and I went on a weekday, there were only a few people inside the farm. Lucky us, we got to take a lot of great photos without anyone in the background. Hohohoh.
Upon paying the entrance fee, we went ahead and explored the place. On one side, there were sunflowers just starting to grow. On the other side, there were sunflowers in full bloom. Aaaaaah.
I’m going to be honest. I never liked the color yellow or sunflowers but recently I’ve been loving the color. Change of perspective, I guess?
The sunflowers in full bloom were so pretty. Some were as big as my hand and others were just buds starting to bloom.
I allowed myself to enjoy the moment and surround myself with these “Plants vs. Zombie” plants. Nyahaha. See what I did there?
If you look at the flowers, they’re all facing one direction. They’re facing the sun. So word of warning guys, if you’re going to take a photo with these pretties in the background, prepare to look at the sun. So maybe bring a sunglass with you.
How To Get There
Via Private Car
Use Waze or Google Maps and you’ll easily find yourself in this beautiful place. Plus, you can see it by the highway so won’t have to worry about not finding it.
Via Commute
- From Manila Ride a bus heading to Lucena.
- You can ride the DLTB bus in Cubao or Buendia.
- Then, ask the driver to drop you off at Sunshine farm. Tell them it’s a sunflower farm and near Villa Escudero.
Rates
- Entrance fee is just 100 pesos per person. Children below 10 years old are free of charge.
- Price varies for photoshoots such as pre-nup, engagement and pre-debut.
- You can buy a sunflower for 150 to 200 pesos depending on the size and variety.

Tips and Reminders
- Read the signs posted around the farm so you don’t do anything that’s prohibited.
- The number of blooming sunflowers depend on the months. Other times, you’ll see that there are only a few sunflowers blooming. The best time to visit is April to May when there are a lot of sunflowers in bloom.
- Bring an umbrella or a cap. It gets really hot during the day.
- Opening hours are from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekends and holidays.
