Thunderbird Resorts – Poro Point

Thunderbird Resort La Union San Fernand

Guest Review: “The most amazing was the Sunrise and Sunset on the property. Its a sunset beach so the sunset that day casts a very nice golden light on the beach and pool area, so Romantic. But then again this was also the same at sunrise!

Somehow the place was built so that sunrise and sunsets cast a very nice color and shadow on the property. Architecture and landscape make the place look so nice and spacious and romantic. The pool was very nice and clean. The room and even the bathroom was big! And the bed so big and soft and so comfy.

Breakfast was much like what you’d find in good hotels. There were restaurants with adequate and courteous staff just in case you get hungry admiring and enjoying the place. And a CASINO for if you’re feeling lucky as I did on the Black Widow slot machine….Nice”

The food in their in-house resto is just okay but there are a lot of restos in the vicinity so dining wasn’t a problem. There’s also a 7-11 nearby.”

Their location is the best and just a few steps away from Elyu’s famous restaurants, pubs and surfing area. The beds are comfortable and the room is tidy and a lot of power plugs were available for your gadgets. They have billiards table, volleyball area and giant Jenga available for guests to use. Lacuna Resort

Guest Review: “It was the surfing break in La Union or famously known as Elyu and my friend and I ran out of rooms along San Juan where the waves are. So a place in Bauang is the answer, with marvelous sunsets and quick Banca ride to the beach cove at Poro Point passing by the Thunderbird Resorts.

Breakfasts are typical silog which is nice though. The pool is great, you can still swim as well at the beachfront if the weather looks fine. The room is clean, enough softness of the bed, spacious though the air-conditioner is not working well which did not matter much as we were out exploring San Juan, San Fernando and the room accommodates us to simply sleep after a day and night out. Plus the place is budget-friendly.”

Guest Review: “I read reviews online while I was booking and some said that it wasn’t worth the money. Still tried because the location’s really accessible. When we got there, they allowed us to have an early check-in.

The room we had exceeded our expectations. It was spacious and the bedsheets were really clean. The bathroom has some smell at first tho but we didn’t mind because it wasn’t that bad. The staffs were accommodating with every request.

Their location was near flotsam, makai bowl, el union. Lastly, we had some scrumptious lunch with their restaurant. In short, we had a really pleasant stay. Will definitely go back here.”

3BU Hostel San Juan

3BU Hostel

Guest Review: “Excellent service. Their staff is accommodating. They have lockers. You just have to buy a padlock, which is cheap. There are some things they need to look at. The ladder that they put on the side (used for climbing up to the upper bed) is made of a steel bar.

Those who get the upper beds have difficulty climbing up and down, and may slip and fall. It sometimes hurts when stepping on to the steel bar. I think they should change it, or maybe put something like a rubber padding for foot support. They should also put carpets to reduce the floor noise when walking in the halls.

Male and female guests should have separate beds for privacy and security. Overall, the facilities are nice. Recommending them to solo travelers who just need a place to stay in.”

Guest Review: “The hosts and their staff are very hospitable and easy to get along with. They were very accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions and requests.

The place is quiet, clean, spacious and calming. Perfect probinsya feels, indeed. It has a beautiful garden and the host even gave us plants. The place is very accessible and easy to get around to San Juan, town proper, and other tourist destinations through public transportations if you won’t bring a car.

For the price, we think this is a bargain as you’d be served free breakfast! Although we suggest that they may explore serving authentic Ilocano foods. We will definitely be looking forward to staying the next time we come to LU. Would absolutely recommend staying there!”
