Your other option is to start your journey from Puerto Princesa. It’s a 3 to 4 hour van ride, and trust me, the scenery along the way is picturesque. There are vans traveling to and from Puerto Princesa. Always reserve a seat in advance for a hassle-free trip.

- Fantastic Reef – Another snorkeling spot that lives up to its name. Fantastic Reef is, well, fantastic! The diversity of fish species here is incredible. The corals are well taken care of and you can see fishes in all sorts of colors.
- Turtle Spot – Get ready to meet some adorable sea turtles at Turtle Spot. Just remember to keep a respectful distance and don’t touch them.
- Starfish Island Sand Bar – Last but not least, the Starfish Island Sand Bar. It’s the perfect place to end your island-hopping adventure. The sandbar is dotted with starfish, and the sunset views are to die for.

With spots like Twin Reef and Fantastic Reef, you’ll be swimming alongside schools of vibrant fish, intricate coral formations, and maybe even some small reef sharks if you’re lucky!
The water clarity is excellent, offering visibility up to 30 meters on a good day. Local boat island hopping tours often provide snorkeling gear, but bringing your own ensures a perfect fit.
Hang Out at Inaladelan Island Resort (German Island)
Inaladelan, commonly known as German Island, is usually a haven for those seeking a more private beach experience.
However, during our last visit, the island was closed due to the aftermath of Typhoon Odette. Once it reopens, expect pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and the option to camp overnight for that ultimate island experience.
Rent a Kayak
If you want to explore the tranquil waters of Port Barton at your own pace, renting a kayak is the way to go.
Paddle out to nearby islands or just along the coastline, where you can find secluded spots to relax or snorkel. It’s a peaceful experience, with only the sound of your paddle gently breaking the water’s surface.

We recommend you make your bike rental arrangement with your accommodation in advance. Apparently, not a lot of people rent out bikes in town.

Where We Stayed: Parrot Boutique Resort. We loved our stay – highly recommended!
All the staff were accommodating and friendly. They love cats and dogs (their cats are super chunky!) Our room even had a spacious balcony. The only cons were the spotty mobile data signal (there was wifi but not that strong) and how muddy the road gets when it rains. But it is only a minute walk to convenience stores.
So far, the most luxurious accommodation in Port Barton that we found is Holiday Suites with prices starting at 5,600 pesos per night. It’s beach front, too!

Mobile Data is Spotty
