Taal Vista Hotel at a Glance

Taal Vista Hotel is a property located in Tagaytay City, Cavite. The hotel sits on a hilltop overlooking Taal Lake, offering guests stunning views of the lake and volcano.
Built in 1939, Taal Vista Hotel was previously known as Taal Vista Lodge. The lodge was converted into a hotel and has since undergone several renovations.
Watch the hotel’s history in the video below:
Today, Taal Vista Hotel is one of the most popular staycation destinations in the city. Aside from its rooms, it is also home to several restaurants, a spa, an outdoor swimming pool, and function halls. The hotel is perfect for both couples and families.
Taal Vista Hotel Rooms
There are several room types available at Taal Vista Hotel, each with its own unique view.
Lake Wing

When booking the Lake Wing, I would recommend choosing the rooms facing the Taal Volcano. We stayed in the Premier room and had a whole balcony to ourselves. The view was well worth it! Ryk and I woke up early each morning to catch the sunrise and were greeted with a different view of the lake and volcano each day.

The room we stayed in was spacious and had all the amenities we needed, including a TV, minibar, and a safety deposit box. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were clean. I also appreciated that there was a bathtub in the room.
If you’re planning to stay in the Lake Wing, I would recommend booking a room with a balcony. The views are simply breathtaking!
Mountain Wing

From its name alone, Mountain Wing offers rooms with a view of the mountains and the ridge. There are also rooms that offer a view of Taal volcano such as the Tagaytay Suite and Taal Suite.
I would recommend booking the Mountain Wing if you’d love to stay close to the pool area, gym, kid’s corner and spa.

Taal Vista Dining
Veranda

When it comes to buffets, Veranda definitely offers a wide variety of traditional Filipino dishes. I was able to try their breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet – yup, I definitely gained a kilo or two! I loved their dessert selection. The highlight of the buffet for us was the champorado, meat dishes, and DIY pancakes. When booking a room at Taal Vista Hotel, you’ll also get a complementary buffet breakfast. Breakfast buffet is offered from 6AM to 10AM.

The restaurant also allows walk-ins and reservations even if you haven’t booked a room.
The best times to dine in Veranda would be during weekends. You can look forward to a folk dance show on Sundays. And on Wednesdays to Saturdays, be on the look out for the trio musicians. They’re good!

Chill and Grill at the Ridge
Because of the pandemic, al fresco dining has been on the rise. Taal Vista Hotel has its own al fresco restaurant called Chill and Grill at the Ridge. They offer a wide variety of grilled meats and cocktails available every Friday to Sunday from 4PM to 8PM.

Enjoy a live band and the cold breeze of Tagaytay while dining at Chill and Grill at the Ridge.

Lobby Lounge
Up for desserts? Lobby Lounge is the perfect place for you! They offer all-day ala carte desserts and pastries.

Try the “A Walk Through Time Guided Tour” which includes a one-hour guided walking tour and tea time at the Lobby Lounge. Enjoy listening to the piano while sipping on your hot tea.

Taza Fresh Table
Want some steak? Taza Fresh Table is the place to be. They offer a wide variety of steak, pasta, and salad dishes. I’d recommend choosing the set menu which includes a salad, soup, main course, and dessert.

All the staffs provided excellent customer service, and the food was superb!

Dine Under the Stars with the Himalayan Dome Package
Delight your palate with a set menu for two or with a group of friends and family while enjoying the view of Taal volcano. Ryk and I had the chance to try the dome package. All the food were amazing, but my personal favorite was the steak and the triple chocolate mousse.

By the time we finished eating, we were both so full! It was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend it.
This activity is perfect for special occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays.

Others
Outside the Veranda restaurant, you’ll find a kakanin stall which sells native kakanin delicacies.
And near the big tree at the ridge, you’ll find an ice cream stall – perfect for when it gets too hot in the day.

Things to Know Before Booking (+ Tips)
Here are a few things you should know before booking.

- Taal Vista Hotel is just beside Sky Ranch. You can buy tickets from the hotel lobby and enter Sky Ranch directly from the hotel. Yup, there’s a path that leads directly to the Sky Ranch just beside the Lake Wing.
- Prepare to walk A LOT. The hotel is HUUUGE. To get from your room to the lobby or the restaurants, you’ll have to walk for a few minutes so bring your most comfortable footwear.
- Water lovers rejoice! One of the things I loved about Taal Vista Hotel during our stay was the unli drinking water refill. Inside your room, you’ll find an empty pitcher which you can refill from the water station in the hallway.
