How to Get from Caticlan to Boracay Island
Are you looking to visit Boracay Island? If you’ve booked your flight to Caticlan Airport, you’ll need to ride a ferry to the island. This usually takes about 15 minutes.
For a hassle free trip, I’d recommend booking online for the bus-ferry connection. You can also purchase your ticket at a transport kiosk in the airport.

Caticlan Airport to Boracay
After arriving at Caticlan Airport, take a trike to Caticlan Port. Make your way to the opposite side of the street, and you will encounter an array of motor tricycles (trikes). If you don’t have a lot of luggage, you can walk to the port.
If you do have a lot of baggage, you can book a bus or van transfer in advance. This way, you don’t have to go outside the airport to ride a tricycle. Plus, they’ll help you sort out everything at the jetty port all the way to your hotel. This is the easiest and hassle free option to Boracay.

Caticlan Jetty Port to Boracay Island
Once you’re in Caticlan port, you have to ride a boat to get to the island. The boats travel to and from Boracay island, usually starting at 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. All you have to do is pay for the boat fare (this includes the ticket, port fee and environmental fee). You can choose to line up at the port to buy a ticket or purchase in advance.
When paying for your boat ticket, you can choose between the pump boat or thee Oyster Ferry.
Here’s the difference between the two:
- Pump Boat: This will take you to Boracay island (Cagban Jetty Port) in around 15 minutes. The ticket price is cheaper compared to the Oyster Ferry. There’s no aircon inside the boat but it has open windows to let the cool air in. The pump boat is smaller than the Oyster Ferry. Departure is every 5 to 10 minutes.
- Oyster Ferry: Travel time to Boracay island (Cagban Jetty Port) is at 5 to 8 minutes. Compared to the pump boat, the Oyster Ferry features more comfortable and wider seats. There’s also an aircon. Since there are only a few oyster ferries, you might have to wait as long as 30 minutes for the next ferry to return to Caticlan Jetty Port.
Boracay Cagban Jetty Port to Hotel
Once you’ve arrived in Cagban Jetty port, ride a tricycle going to your hotel. If you have a lot of luggage, I’d recommend booking your transportation in advance. This makes everything easier and less of a headache.
