How to get to Mirissa from Colombo
To travel from Colombo to Mirissa, you have several options.
The most convenient is a private taxi or hired car, which provides a direct and comfortable ride that takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic conditions. This option is best for families.
Alternatively, you can use public transportation, such as buses or trains.
Buses depart regularly from the Colombo Bastian Mawatha Bus Terminal, offering a more budget-friendly choice.
Buses in Sri Lanka are always crowded, and if you are carrying a lot of luggage, this is not a good option.
The bus journey may take 4–5 hours, providing a scenic route through coastal landscapes.
