Located two hours south of Manila, Panglao is easy to access and offers year-round tropical weather. The temperatures range between 25-30C, and the rainy season runs from June to October.

6 Best Panglao Island Beaches

Panglao beaches offer a nice escape from the digital world. Here’s a list of the top 7 beaches in Panglao to visit:

Alona Beach

This beach sits on Barangay Tawala, Bohol. It is easily accessible from Tagbilaran and is the most popular destination on the island. It has a lively atmosphere, with plenty of restaurants and bars to enjoy.

Without a doubt, Alona Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Panglao – and possibly even Bohol – due to its extensive development. The picturesque beach of Alona stretches for a mile and a half, framed by majestic cliffs.

Make a splash with exciting water sports like jet skiing, kitesurfing, and kayaking! And don’t forget snorkeling and scuba diving. There are also plenty of daily trips to the Balicasag or Pamilacan islands.

However, when we visited, the beach wasn’t that beautiful because of the number of restaurants and accommodations crowding the shoreline. There are also a lot of tourists around especially in the early mornings when everybody’s going on an island hopping trip. I would recommend visiting after all the boats have left.

Alona beach is for you if you’re looking for a nightlife experience and don’t mind the crowd.

Dumaluan Beach

Dumaluan Beach

The wide Dumaluan beach can be your go-to spot if you want to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand in one place. It is a great spot for beachgoers looking for a low-key, laid-back atmosphere. This is our personal favorite. We especially loved the beach in front of South Palms Resort. You don’t have to book a room to access the beach. You can go on a day trip to the resort or eat at their restaurant.

South Palms Resort

Dumaluan has all the amenities you need for a fun and memorable stay. You can rent beach umbrellas and lounge chairs or hire a kayak to explore the surrounding waters. The beach also has plenty of restaurants and resorts to choose from.

The shallow waters of Dumaluan beach make it a great spot for swimming and other water activities. It’s also ideal for snorkeling and diving, as the waters are as clear as crystal. This beach is ideal for those looking to have a peaceful and relaxing day in Panglao.

Bagobo Beach

You can find Bagobo Beach in Barangay Libaong. This beach is a hidden gem and the right spot to relax in peace and quiet. Calm water, beautiful white sand, and lush palm trees create a perfect atmosphere for a day of beach therapy.

Trek past the berm of this beach, and you will find yourself in a sandy oasis and silky-smooth granules that feel as soft as chalk or cornstarch beneath your feet. Take advantage of its tranquil environment and go fishing, swimming, sunbathing, or just take a leisurely stroll. You can even enjoy the view of nearby islets while you soak in the sun.

The beach also faces a popular diving spot called Arco Point. An underwater haven of marine life, this opening is home to Raggy Scorpion Fish, Cardinal Fish, and varieties of eels, wrasse, groupers, and butterflyfishes. It’s an impressive selection that promises plenty for divers to explore!

Danao Beach

Another beautiful beach that lies next to Alona is Danao Beach. Its natural, rocky cliffs create an enchanting atmosphere making you feel like you’re in paradise.

It’s a bit laid-back compared to Alona beach. You’ll find the Bohol Sea Resort, Bita-ug Beach Resort, Kalipayan Beach Resort, and Alumbung Resort along its shores.

Bolod Beach

Bolod Beach is a peaceful stretch of shoreline located in the municipality of Panglao. This beach is unique compared to other Panglao beaches as it has a very wild and rugged feel. Thick white sand and rocky outcrops cover the shoreline, making it ideal for a beach day.

The most popular activity here is swimming, as the waters are incredibly calm and crystal-clear. You can also go sunbathing or explore the rocky formations. For something a bit more adventurous, why not try snorkeling and admire the stunning marine life that calls Bolod Beach home?

Doljo Beach

Sparkling waters and fine sand make Doljo Beach one of the best beaches for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

This beach is located on the western side of Panglao. It is an excellent spot for a day away from your busy daily life. Go beach-hopping all day and take a dip in the gentle waters or relax and sunbathe on the powder-soft sand. You can also find an array of beachfront restaurants, souvenir shops, and resorts where you can enjoy sunset views with a drink in hand.
