Since we (me, sister, sister’s friend, sister’s friend’s sister) were planning on going to Laoag after our Palaui Island trip, I tried looking for an affordable transient house that’s good for four people and found Laoag Transient House. The rooms looked pretty cute. Plus, a lot of people recommended it.
After our Palaui Island trip, all four of us rode the GMW bus in Sta Ana, Cagayan going to Laoag. The trip took us more than 8 hours and we arrived in Laoag at 9 pm. It was so tiring that I wanted to just go to the transient house and sleep. So once we were in Laoag, we quickly bought some food since we haven’t had any dinner yet (good thing there was an empanada stall nearby) and rode a tricycle to bring us to Laoag Transient House.

The hosts were very welcoming despite us arriving late. Tatay Danny was the one who welcomed us first. He was very friendly and had a lot of stories to tell.
Despite being tired from the trip, I enjoyed listening to his stories especially that time when he had to go home to Laoag from Manila on a Friday night. The following day on a Saturday night, he would go back to Manila to work. Talk about a tiring trip.
To our luck, we were the only guests during that time. Yaaay! The whole house was ours for the night.
This Transient House is Waay Better
Our room was upstairs including all the other rooms.
Look at these details. I love what they did to the wall. Each room has a different theme but all are pretty awesome.
You can use the stairs of the double bed to store some of your stuff. I wish I had a bed like that in my room so I can tuck away all of the mess in my room.
Here are all the other rooms on the second floor. I wanted to take some photos inside but we were in a hurry to see the rest of Laoag.
Here are a few photos taken from their Facebook account.
Inside the house, you will find a common kitchen, a living room and two bathrooms downstairs. There’s also TV so you can watch while eating dinner.
The whole place is pretty clean, well maintained and looked new.
You can buy a few stuff from their mini store in the kitchen. There’s bottled water, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, cup noodles and a lot more. Just get what you want to buy and place your payment on the box provided. Pretty cool, huh? It tests your honesty, too.
- AC Room – P300/person/night

How To Get There
Address: Purok 7, Barangay 46 Nalbo, Laoag City
- Ride a bus heading to Laoag City.
- Upon arriving in Laoag, look for a tricycle and ask the driver to bring you to Brgy. Nalbo near the basketball court in Purok 7. Fare is around P50 for the whole tricycle. Then, look for the green waiting shed. The transient house is just behind it.
Here’s a photo of the entrance of the Laoag Transient House from the outside. Yes, it is named as North West Villa Vacation House since the local government doesn’t want them to use the Laoag Transient House name.

If you want to stay in an affordable transient house in Laoag for you or your group, choose Laoag Transient House. It’s definitely better than most Laoag hotels.
